Basketball

Hello,…

I’ll be back in Taiwan soon, returning from a brief trip to the US, and I’m planning on living in Taipei for my second year on the Island; I was in Tainan before. I have been thinking about behavioral things I want to introduce and re-incorporate; fore most among those is basketball. I’ve played for a good fourteen years or so and I am fundamentally sound – that is, I appreciate clean, defense/teamwork-focused ball. Does anyone know of a satisfactory league or a court where good pick-up games can be found. I prefer (on the verge of need) indoor courts. :homer:

Thanks…

Did you find that in Tainan? I’m yet to see that in Taiwan, not even in the SBL… Except for those criteria I think that you can find pretty good competition at all major courts in the inner city. Just take a tour until you find the one that you like the best.

I didn’t play ball in Tainan – I have not played for three years or so – but I want to get back into it.

I lived in China for a year as a teenager and I played a lot there. The game was a mess, though. And we played on a dirt court.

I dislike sloppy ball, especially when playing with people who constantly shoot threes and rarely pass. And like I said above, good defense makes the game much better. Perhaps I’m transposing my U.S.-centric expectations over Taiwan.
