Taiwan is the island which has for all practical purposes been independent for half a century but which China regards as a renegade province that must be re-united with the mainland.
It’s about time someone is not afraid to print the truth! It unbelievable how many media outlets and national governments allow themselves to be controlled by the Communist China government or their rabidly nationalistic brainwashed citizens.
Hang in there BBC, the CCP already hated you before this, and that is something to be proud of.
Legally, most nations - and the UN - acknowledge the position of the Chinese government that Taiwan is a province of China
I like the way this is put. Acknowlegement does not necessarily equal acceptance. :bravo::bravo::bravo:
The British Government also calls Taiwan a country, just one it doen’t have diplomatic relations with. I think you will find most other countries the same, Only the UN and WHO call Taiwan a province of china: fco.gov.uk/servlet/Front?pag … 9041599961
Well, to many countries, Taiwan is already a country (but may not be officially recognized). When the world calls our country Taiwan, we still call it “Republic of China”, which brings up more confusions to the world.
It’s not surprising to know that BBC or CIA considers Taiwan a country. But it will be surprising to me if everyone living here calls this country Taiwan instead of Republic of China.
