Bear Traps! Doesn’t have to be the size for an actual bear, just something big enough for a human’s foot. Basically the circular kind with edged teeth. Step in the middle, snap!
First, are these legal in Taiwan? If so, where can I pick up a few?

Haven’t seen any of those big enough for a person. Have you thought about setting up a couple of motion detector lights? Maybe coupled with a siren or electric bullhorn or something? That wouldn’t be too expensive.
Or just run out onto your rooftop stark naked, screaming and brandishing a baseball bat.
Yeah, we’re actually headed out to B&Q to pick up some of those lights today. I think that really should be enough…but I suppose there’s a little demon inside me that would love hearing some a**hole screaming in agonizing pain on my rooftop. I’d go up there with my camera and you’d see the shot in Apple Daily the next morning. 
I don’t suspect I’ll find any though. Taiwan doesn’t seem to have a large hunting culture.

I’ve seen this kind of stuff in hardware stores but not sure if it will fit into a human. There’s a potential market for that though. I got robbed a few months ago and wouldn’t have a problem with snapping the ankle of the next piece of garbage that tries it. A board with nails sticking up also crossed my mind but with a child I worried I’d leave it down and let her out to play. All my neighbors are after me to put bars up but fuck it, I don’t want to live behind bars, the criminals should.
