Best dealer to sell my Sym Duke and Shoei helmet

When I was buying a scooter I saw a 2nd hand Duke that was 1 year old with under 10k for 52k from a dealer in Taipei.

30 to 35k would be 5 years old or more.

Again, I’m aware I won’t get the full market value, but I’d expect at least 40k.

30-35k is what they pay you
50k is what you pay
does that make sense?

Yes, but given that they’ll likely sell it for 52k+ I’m hoping to get 40k for it.

Anyway, I’ll ask tomorrow.

Try the FB group for buying and selling motorcycles in Taiwan. Robbie Kirkpatrick I think is the name of the admin there. Very helpful and knowledgeable group

I second this. Actually its quite shocking how many people still don’t understand this.

If you can be bothered to self sell, post it on FB and let it sit there. You’ll get some mildly interested folks, some who will express interest and then disappear, etc. But when you do sell it, FB marketplace is going to give you the best chance of making up what you bought it for. Can sell the helmet with or seperate – if it’s one of the nicer Shoei models in good nick, 9k is a reasonable used price.

My suggestion? Add 10k to the price you’re willing to sell for, and then let them negotiate you down. You list 60, they say 45, you say 50. Shrug.

I’ve sold it. Got 41k for it. There was an outstanding traffic violation that I didn’t know about, so it ended up being 39000 after fees.
