For your iBook? The free way would be to use your Tiger CD and install OS X onto any bootable firewire drive. The other way would be to clone your bootable partition to any firewire drive with SuperDuper or CarbonCopyCloner. BootCD is free but not yet Tiger ready. If you wanted to repartition without reformatting, it would be iPartition or that other program out there.
I used to have a separate partition (“E-drive” made from TechTool Pro) I would use for defrag and any maintenance. I only used it for defrag. I now use an external firewire and freed up some space on my PowerBook. I discovered today there are Firewire thumb drives; that’s a must.
nice free software frost. There’s lots of partitioning softare. I’ve used Acronis TrueImage for the past few years for the few times i’ve needed to use windows.
I’m looking into WebKit, the open source component of Safari. And was thinking about Firefox. This was interesting.
Ok, I bet everyone already knew. Just poor, dumb, Macnewbie Jaboney, left out in the cold…
any suggestions on what scripts are best? Super Remove Dead Tracks just cleaned out 190 pieces of dead wood. Now I’m combing through the library to see what files aren’t being added. Very cool.
[quote=“Jaboney”]Did I miss this, or did nobody bother to tell me? Doug’s Applescripts for iTunes are fantastic!

I did recommend it in another thread a long time ago. I’ve been using scripts from ther for years. And over time, have learned how to write quite a few of my own.
This is a very useful free utility I’ve been using lately. Kind of a Windows taskmanager on steriods. Especially good to see if any trojans, bots, etc. are using up any processor power. I like it because it briefly explains some of the more obscure processes. sysinternals.com/Utilities/P … lorer.html
Also useful reference: processid.com/processes.html
example, a common worm is scvhost.exe (bad) svchost.exe (good).

Ah yes. Process Explorer was very helpful to when I was trying to remove loaded drivers from Windows. There was a time I was using XP under Virtual PC and got it to load up using less than 35 megs of memory.
Microsoft Groupbar just came out. It is a freeware utility that adds another taskbar to the screen that you can group apps in. Note: once you run the setup, you have to go into the \program files directory, find the microsoft research directory, then copy the .exe file to the desktop or startup directory. research.microsoft.com/vibe/groupbar.aspx
There is finally a decent Vector Graphics program available for Linux.
I cannot wait until I need to make my next graphics. This program is
still in version 0.7, but is evolving rapidly.
