Yeah, that would make more sense.

Well, it’s not the best I’ve tried here, but not bad at all!
Beats easily those American franchises, and reminds me a bit of the Banco Pizza.
I just wished the dough was a little thicker and a more tomato sauce. Other than that the pizza looks good and tastes good too. I didn’t even had time to take a photo and it was gone! :yum:

Hint: Save some time to look for a parking space when going there. It’s not easy to find one.

So my takeaway is that BIANCA joints the growing list of shops, many also in Xinbei, that include GINO’S and BANCO, doing not bad work but perhaps not at the top of the list.

In my recent experience, I like the depths of flavour and texture at SOLO (awesome place!) and also at SALTO (good for a family or group outing).

Perhaps soon I will calm down enough to stop using ALL CAPS.

So, which ONE is the BEST in YOUR opinion?
How’s your TOP 5 list NOW?

My November 2023 list is as follows:

I think Solo is at the top of its game. Great place though not a lot of seats, so not a good choice for a group or perhaps a family.

If Federico is around, and if you don’t mind spending more money, then Pizza Si is a nice choice for Roman style pizza.

Zoca’s has unfortunately been uneven lately depending on who is at the pizza oven—in the past it was excellent. I hope they can get their balance back.

I like the taste of the food at Salto quite a bit, and it has more seating for groups and families, though I don’t much like their dirty chairs.

Places like Gino’s, Banco would have been great even ten years ago. Now I think of them as reliable choices that are, in my humble opinion, not as impressive as the other places I’ve listed above.

Gotta say man, went 2 weeks ago to black pepper, had their calzone. That upped their game.

Was impressed, loved it

Good to know! I’ve had that beast once. My lasting memory? It was huge!

I keep on being disappointed with ordering anything from Salto outside of their margherita pizza. The buffalo/mozz one was oddly sweet, and the salami one was passable, but still not comparable in both price point and flavor to the margherita. Also, the fig salad was an extremely small portion for its cost – not worth it imo.

Little New York and Pizza³ were a better experience overall for me.

solid place, liked it. But Salto has good beer on tap. Only ever taken the normal margherita there.

I’ve tried a few of their pizzas. Yesterday, the owner recommended one I haven’t tried but I didn’t care too much for it. So far, I’ve found the margherita, six cheese, smoked chicken, and truffle pizzas good. The six cheese is my favorite. After yesterday’s fail (and the time I had the pizza that won some kind of award), I might not try too many different ones from now on.

Ditto! My praise is limited to this pizza, and the tasty olive oil available to customers to dress it if so desired.

I also enjoyed their mushroom soup—a nice treat as winter approaches. :yum:

Just had Solo Pizza this weekend, great! what’s the deal with the calzones though? kinda weird how they have an opening in the middle. great taste though, I have a more detailed mini review in the “pizza places to avoid” thread.

We had Black Pepper one night after work recently. Was quite good. Probably a solid 6/10. Would go again. Their hours were the real selling point!

Well, for me their pizza is well above 8, especially the calzone. I wonder what would u would consider a 7+ pizza…

Only ever had 2 pizzas in Taiwan I would put over 8. Both are gone long ago.

6 is good. But their dough was a bit soft in the middle and a bit burnt on the outside. I don’t mind some spill crisp, but not soft dough.

A 10 has to literally blow the socks off everyone. Never had a 10, anywhere, myself.

But anyway, we were quite happy with it. especially at midnight. We didn’t try the calzones. We just had pizzas.

My very, very limited experience and expertise is that this is a good description of neapolitan pizza. And it’s eaten by almost folding the piece in half along the lengthwise direction. Anyone more knowledgeable please feel to correct me if I’m wrong.
