I received an e-mail from a trusted friend of mine inviting me to join SMS.ac’s free SMS service.

If you get an invite, DON’T do it! It will highjack you MSN contacts list and send an invite email to all your contacts, without your knowledge or consent.

A quick Google search provides links to pages/newsgroups saying ‘Stay Away’ it BAD BAD BAD

Anyone else been duped by this???

got the same email in my junk folder, but I wasn’t duped.
Is this like that friendship.com (or whatever it’s called) that was all the rage last year ?

I got the invitation, signed up using a special new email account as I was afraid of spamming.

But the truth is: this bloody sms-thing doesn’t work in Taiwan anyway…
