Mechanic Luke here. I’ve been providing shifter repairs for quite some year. Bicycle shifter repairs, especially SHIMANO ones are delicate therefore very few bike shops are willing to risk their labour time and possible dispute if a case remain unsolved. To address this, my service is no-fix-no-fee based. That means the labour charge incurs only when the repair is a success. In addition to that, a 90-day warranty is provided after the payment. A full refund, or a second repair attempt can be claimed with no question asked.
Labour charge is capped. $2500/DURA-ACE $2000/ULTEGRA $1500/105 & lower grade. No-fix-no-fee.
You can inbox me with a few photos of your shifter along with some description of the fault. If the initial assessment is promising, you’ll then post it to my workshop in 大雅, Taichung. The turnaound is usually 48-hours once I receive the parcel.
