Bike Repairs

Agree. There are plenty of uncle bike mechanic shops, the ones that sell those kind of bikes, that will help you out for little money. But…

A bike that you don’t care about it’s the perfect training rig for a novice mechanic.

Thank you for all of your advice. I’ll ask some of the locals that I know about where I can get bike repairs for cheap. I don’t really plan on using it for sports or recreation. It would just be my daily workhorse so I don’t really need anything fancy.

It would cost roughly 990-1900 at my shop without parts.

Cant help with the rust, but we will sort everything else out for you.

Looks like you just need to oil on your chain, or perhaps get a new one, 200-300.
As long as the bearings are alright, should be good with some minor tuning.
Possibly a new cable here and there. Replacement tires are cheap, around 300-500 per tire, but they look ok in the photos.

Whole bike looks alright to me, just some minor TLC.

My shop is Taipei Bike Works by the way, you can find me on Google.

If only I lived in Taipei I would’ve brought my bike to you. Still, thanks for the rough quotation on how much the repairs might cause.

You on the mend?

Good to hear from you again. Glad to see the shop is still a thing.

unfortunately that link stopped working before I visited it… what tyres cost 20,000nt???

He must have added one extra zero.

20,000 Taiwan dollars is 640 USD.

But I can easily buy 64 USD tires. And I do.
