Book on PRC policy toward Taiwan

Looking for informed books pr journal articles regarding PRC policy toward Taiwan in the 1970s, 1980s. and 1990s. Anyone?

Where are you? If you have access to a university Chinese studies department, the China Quarterly has some good articles. Most generic China histories don’t say much about Taiwan.

I do have access to a very good library system, but they have thousands of books about China – I want to narrow down the search by asking Forumosa, because otherwise I only have the library search engine and a few bibliographies to work with.

I am looking for a definitive work on China’s Taiwan policy, mainly before the 1996 Taiwan presidential elections. Any advice much appreciated!
