I want to get this Taiwanese translation of ‘The Little Prince’ as a gift.
Any idea if it’s available generally in all the book stores or only special places?
I just noticed that the news article doesn’t have the title in Taiwanese or Chinese…
Chinese is 小王子.

@greves edited a version of Taigi The Little Prince a while ago. There were both POJ and Tsailaiji versions in one book. For me Tsailaiji is even harder to read than straight Lomaji.

That’s the easy MOE version.
Tsailaiji version looks like this:
泉仔 ?
餒目周 juê目睭
立治叱 khiā tī hia ?
衰屑 sue-siâu
破不八 ? something m̄-bat?
唖 ah
and I have no idea how all the 不s are supposed to sound.
I get the feeling that the editor is trying to show that lomaji is much more useful for Taigi, and he succeeded.
Well, if you know Taiwanese, and can read the romanization, you 100% will know.

It’s like playing chess but the board keeps changing shape and the pieces keep transmogrifying. And why does “model” suddenly appear with an explanation in Mandarin?
The explanation is in Taigi. I think if I were to think of a term to describe someone being painted, I’d probably say 我畫ê對象 or 我所畫者. However, they don’t completely capture the meaning implied by model being someone that looks good.
