Boston reporter thinks Taiwan and Thailand is one nation called Thaiwan

Lately, there have been a LOT of news articles like this from newspaper
and TV websites in the U.S. What’s going on? It’s almost as if someone
is deliberately trying to mislead people into thinking Taiwan is Thaiwan,
Thai people come from Taiwan, or Taiwanese people are from Thailand,

or any combination of those.

What I find even more amusing is that more than half of these articles
are from Boston and Northern California. Guess I can’t really blame them.
Even intelligent people that I know frequently can’t tell the difference
between Taiwan and Thailand. (by intelligent I mean my friend and
co-workers who have at least a mater’s degree in something and travel
internationally on a regular basis)

Yet another one:
“McDonald’s goddess Hsu Wei-han in Thaiwan is their most attractive worker”
bostonnewstime.com/regional/ … orker.html

So this hot employee is from McDonald’s in Thaiwan. Oh, well… hot
is hot, it’s borderless… oh no… I need some Orbit gum because I have
a dirty mind. I looked at the photo and thought she was about to rip her
shirt open… then I looked closer and realized she was just trying to open
a bag of disposable forks

oh… apparently Elaine Chao was also born in Thaiwan, according to this
theblaze.com/stories/2013/02 … ells-wife/

They can keep her. Let’s send her back to Taipangkok.

The Mac Chick is cute, but she looks like shes only 15. Has the trademark pretty TW girl legs though
Thaiwan? Sounds funny. I suppose Taiwan should just annex Thailand? Don’t know what the Thai Monarch would say about that though.

The King sez: “what? you mean Thaiwan isn’t already ours?”

In Thaiwanland, you’d get a 30-year jail sentence for this joke.

Have no idea what you’re talking about. I was praising His majesty! Long live the King! :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

Hahaha, this reminds me of the bombshell my (white Texan) bestfriend dropped on me a few years ago. Sigh.

Reporters all take two to four years of J-school to learn to be ignoramuses.

I’ve often thought they should turn this into some kind of tourism promotion: “Taiwan: The Other Thailand.”

Or they could have a photo of a girly-boy on one side (labeled “Thailand”) and a binlang girl on the other (“Taiwan”).

Well that’s a nice name.

Try this: “Thailand and mainland China split in 1949 following the Chinese civil war. Beijing considers Thailand a renegade province.”

Thailand Independence activists are a dangerous force that must be quelled.

Of course Thaiwan is independent! We have our own king and everything.

But be careful when ordering the san xi from the binlang girl. She might pull out her c o c k and b a l ls.

These replies are legendary.

Hello Baltic person!

I saw a post on NFL football , making fun of Boston and the accent:

Says: Pahk the cah in Hahvahd Yahd (The team from Boston lost)

so maybe that regional accent, they do say “Thaiwan”???
