I don’t know if anyone here has checked out BTWIN bikes.
BTWIN are really now bad for their price. Only problem is their selection. I don’t know how many of you have been to that awful chain store Decathlon. Decathlon in Taiwan only has the low end BTWIN bikes and compared to the French and German outlets only has a few.
But if you walk into Decathlon at Alexander Platz in Berlin you will find their complete line.
Decathlon bikes are very good for their money, especially their entry levels. In Europe basically every Decathlon store has the whole selection of bikes, here in Taiwan I’ve seen many mountain bikes but very few road bikes. I think there may be too much competition on this side of the world, especially considering that Giant/Merida/KHS etc here are much cheaper than in Europe/Us.
I think with BTWIN, you get what you pay for. I think it’s a great budget brand when it comes to basic stuff like gloves and wind jackets. When it comes to kits though, my cycling buddies bought BTWIN and they ended up getting holes in the bibs/jerseys after half a year of wearing and being thrown in the washing machine. However, same friends also bought their soft shell jacket and wind jackets and they have had no problem with them for almost 2 years now.

The BTWIN stock Decathlon in terms of kit is awful. Just like you said after a year or even less holes and stitching come undone. The BTWIN brand items I’ve bought in Europe are a much higher quality. What is also interesting is the prices here are a bit higher than in Berlin. What you find at a location in Europe as a low end item, here they sell it as a more high end item.
