Chinese bubble tea?
Well since Taiwan has been part of China since ancient times, and since bubble tea was created in this unalienable part of China . . . ![]()

I just see one culture, with some differences
I suppose, just like Canada is a photocopy of the UK with more moose.
Or something like that.

really missed the opportunity to make the headline “men like to suck balls more than women”
They sort of said it without saying it
I had bubble tea once before I went to Taiwan and didn’t like it. I never had it in Taiwan. It might be a specific subset of men who really enjoy that bubble tea…
Did the Canadian government sail over from England 75 years ago?
I can enjoy it occasionally, but it is very much a sometimes food. Or drink, as it were.
The first time I ever had bubble tea, I choked on a pearl. Airway completely blocked, face going purple, blood dripping from my ears. A few decades have elapsed, so I may be at fault for some exaggeration. It was in the middle of Chinatown, no myopic bastard there even noticed I was about to drop dead on the pavement. Pricks probably would’ve stepped around my slumped corpse like an annoying A frame sign. Luckily a mate from university who I was with thought quickly and hit me really hard on the back and dislodged the pearl. I didn’t know it at the time, but that was my introduction to Taiwan’s approach to safety. Taiwan dgaf.
You learned a valuable lesson. Don’t drink that stuff!

Are you saying you’ve only had bubble tea once? In all seriousness, some are really bad, but some can be really, really good. If you like tea in general, give it a try again if you run across a place that looks like it might actually use reasonable tea; that, not too much sugar, and a place that cooks the tapioca well makes a huge difference.
Did it actually say that? Looks like it was just talking about that mi xue brand, which is all over asia. Their branding and logo is pretty cute and they sell really cheap ice cream so I can see why it is popular.
Never got into bubble tea. The idea of drinking and eating at same time feels weird to me.
Yes, literally what I wrote.
Taiwanese restaurants struggled with fried rice. If anyone can ruin a perfectly good tea with balls of starch…
Here in the middle east it is easy to get masala chai, the worst cup I’ve had is still better than the best I had in Taiwan. I have seen bubble tea around but not interested
IKR? And you’d think men would prefer women over tea anyway! (something-something-tea-bagging-joke-in-there-somewhere)
The worst cup of masala is better than the best tea you had here? If so, you weren’t looking very hard…
The worst cup of masala in the Middle East is better than the best cup of masala in Taiwan, so far (not including my homemade in Taiwan, of course)
My man I need to take you to Venus Star on Huaxin Street! As part of the Myanmar diaspora, what they serve is incredible.
