Twenty minutes ago, you you couldn’t see from one side of the court yard/school track to the other! Every one who has a mask has it on now, and the rest of us are using hand towels. I thought the building had caught fire, but talk now is that someone is burning a huge mound of trash near the school!
Selfish, stupid shits! I wonder how many breathing treatments the hospital will give this afternoon?! My own lungs are on fire as if I’d been in a burning building.
I’m thankful for the grace today that somehow made the office folks turn on the air. The doors were closed here and my son was in here waiting for me to get out of class, so didn’t get his lungs full of smoke.
All the “evidence” went up in smoke. I’ll have to find a new source to find out more before Monday, I’m sure. And I never watch the news. Y’all will be telling me about it by then, I guess.
They occasionally have burn-offs here on some of the farms and a great pall will drift up the hill to my school. It’s like one of those horror movies where you can’t outrun the giant blob, even though it’s moving incredibly slowly.
Once I called the fire brigade because SE Asian workers were burning plastic next to a factory near my home. They got their super quick, put the fire out, and there hasn’t been a repeat episode (at least when I’ve been at home). If you think the EPA won’t move quick enough, call the firefighters.
That’s because they’re 外勞. It probably hasn’t happened again because they got deported.
OP, in all honesty though, why didn’t you call the fire department right away when you saw smoke? Especially in a residential neighborhood? That’s the problem here, everyone always stands stands around and complains, but few people take initiative. Steven, I bet if you didn’t call, nobody else would have.
Because by the time I saw it, it was already too thick to see through and by then thousands of others had seen it. I was just thinking about if my own kid had been in some kind of school fire and trying to find out what was going on and where he was. I was in class at the time.
