Buying from Shopee, been asked for real name verification via Jiekou

I’m trying to buy some stuff from China sent to 711 (Sports wear, some branded and some not branded) but they are asking me to use Jiekou for real name verification.

I’m confident the items i’m buying are genuine but I am worried about using real name verification instead of something happening.

Anybody have an experience with this?

I have heard this is legit and many good deals come from Mainland China. Honestly, I have avoided it myself. Basically, it is something you have to do if you are importing from Mainland China. I usually filter to only show stuff from “Taiwan”, so I do not need to bother with the Jiekou stuff, and it arrives faster.
