Cable internet - Taichung

I live in the Da Keng mountains, Taichung and being within a gnat’s whisker of the distance limit I’m currently forced to use the measly 64k/256k ADSL service from Chunghwa Telecom.

I desperately need a faster upload speed as I work in music and currently have to work by mailing CDs back and forth, which is losing me business. I don’t want to pay 15k+ a month for a leased line.

What are the options for cable internet in Taichung? I don’t own a TV and don’t intend to so a package that doesn’t require additional TV service is preferable. I need a minimum 512k up and can live with a service fee of about NT$2k/month.

Sorry, don’t think it comes without TV.

Not sure whether you can get cable out there but anyway the company is “Chun Chien” (Qunjian 群健) and their number is 04 2312 3333.

Thanks a bunch. I’ll give them a call and see what they can do. My neighbours certainly all get digital cable TV.
