His height this year? That means his height varies year-to-year?
Height varies day to day let alone year to year. Over time people grow and shrink.
I thought he said “jin4 ye3” but it all sounds like voodoo so I’m not sure what it means. I’d assume 野 is one
That was my guess too, because 野 can mean baseball field.
But I can’t make sense of what 進野 would mean in the context of a pitcher.
Another possibility was 進壘, because home plate is often referred to as another base in Chinese. But then he’s talking about judging the pitch as it crosses the plate. No one can respond that fast.
