Calling Indian toll-free number from Taiwan

I have a number for an Indian company I need to call, a ten digit number of this format: 1800NNNNNN.

Tried calling:

  • 91 1800NNNNNN
  • 91 1800, then wait to punch in the remaining digits.

All these did not work, I get an “incorrect number” notification.

Any ideas?

Store the number as a WhatsApp. Call them for free.

No dice, it’s not registered on Whatsapp.

Not a US toll-free number (1 country code, 800 are toll-free in US) that redirects to India?

Use skype assuming they don’t automatically block voip. That’s the only way to call toll free number in the US.

Doubt it, it is dialed like this (1800) within india. Some countries use different prefixes e.g.088, 8800, 01800, 0805 etc.

Skype toll free only works with numbers from FR, PL, UK, US and TW.

Well then there is no way then.

Find out if the company has a regular phone number and call that.

Toll free number must pay for all incoming calls, so they don’t normally accept international numbers. There’s a lot of toll free numbers in Taiwan that rejects incoming cell calls for example.
