🇰🇭 🇹🇭 Cambodia/Thailand | Border Conflict

If you travel in Cambodian and ThaiLand area be careful

https://www.reuters.com/world/asia-pacific/thailand-f-16-jet-bombs-cambodian-targets-border-clash-escalates-2025-07-24/

Thanks for the heads up but how exactly should I “be careful” about avoiding military air attacks IRL?

(1) if possible don’t go (or leave) to the war zone (2) if there, look for shelters (hope they have some)

If you see an F-16 coming, move out of the way.

They move fast so maybe can not see it, but should hear it (the ones in Taiwan make a lot of noise for some reason)

Maybe because they’re fighter jets? Just spitballing here…..

Me looking at all the Thailand expats who told me I’m mad living in Taiwan because of the threat of war.

A bomb dropped on a 711. 6 dead.

When war starts, there’s always a “to whom it may concern” missile.

I’m in Thailand and my knowledge of the geography was hazy. Quickly checked map and saw I’m on the other side. Phew. Condolences to the dead.

Unless you live near the border - which most expats don’t and isn’t visited by many tourists - you’ll be OK. It’s a limited conflict in a limited area.

So far.

For reference, this ain’t their first rodeo. Border clashes in 2011 killed 20.

The local place is O’Malleys.

This seems like a safe assumption.

There are F-35s where I am… they seem louder than the F/A18s…. I’d imagine they are louder than the F-16s too

F-35 noise levels that are reportedly up to 4x louder than early-model F-16s have made noise a basing issue beyond the United States. Recent developments involve Australia. Decibels and Noise Levels Maj. Davis’ sticking point is a side effect of the F-35’s 40,000 pound thrust single engine, which currently enjoys a large lead as the most powerful fighter engine on the market.
