Camping Tips

With the long weekend coming up, I figure a lot of us, me included, will be going to various spots throughout the island to camp. I’m looking to find out any helpful tips we can share when camping, including what bring, food to cook, etc…
Just to kick it off, I would recommend using any empty water bottles you may have to make ice. Kill two birds with one stone. Keeps your coolers nice and cold for much longer (up to 2-3 days), and as it melts, you have fresh drinking water. No point in spending NT200 on 10 tiny bags of ice that will just melt away in half a day.
Just like freezing water, freezing your meats will allow you to have barbecues well into the trip, as well as keep the cooler chilled. Marinating then freezing will save you a bit of time and mess when it’s time to cook.
I do have a question. I’ll probably be going with about 10 people, and more than likely will burn through at least 10 of those bags of charcoal from Carrefour. Can you buy bulk bags of charcoal, like 7-10 kg? If not, no big deal. It’d just be more convenient than getting 10 bags.

So if you have any helpful tips for a camping trip, please post them here. Hope to get some worthwhile ones that I can use next weekend!
