Hi @Rauen, it has been a while since your last post, just curious to know if your situation has turned out well…

If you don’t mind elaborating, what are those?

Household registration?

At the time of posting he was a NWOHR.

Without HHR, and therefore a local ID, he would have met the same resistance as other foreigners do when doing things here, such as banking.

So what exactly is household registration? Go and register your place of residence? Or prove Chinese lineage? The latter can never be proven for naturalized citizens right? If it is the former, what is the hard part there ?

Household registration is a Taiwanese civil and family registration system and administered by the MOI (Ministry of the Interior). Once a person get such document, you’ll be refer as a citizen in official documents.

Ok. So what is the main issue for naturalized citizens? Can they not get it ?

They cannot be voted for certain years.
If they renounce ROC nationality, they maybe cannot retake it in the way born nationals can do.

They have to wait one year to get it.

Ok. But that’s not a very big deal is it ? Am I missing something. ?

If they are in politics, the duration they cannot be voted may be a big deal?

Young male should wait for a year to do their conscription.

Their nationality can be revoked for 5 years, or permanently if it is regarded as obtained by a fake marriage.

Ok. So someone over 35, after 5 years of arc can get aprc right?

Then 5 years till citizenship? And 1 year for fettting the registration ? No conscription after age 35 right.

someone over 35, after 5 years of arc can get a nationality. Then, 1 year till citizenship. Then, have to wait for 1 year to do his service, so it’s too late.
