Can have English name on house property title?

Buying a toutian in my English name.

My English name is on all the property forms with English signature.

Initially the 代書 scrivener got me to stamp all the form pages with an old chop I had with my English name translated in Chinese. They sent that to the govt and returned it asking for me to sign all the pages in English so its the same as the signature instead of the chop.

They sent that back to the govt, now they are saying can’t have the property title in my English name, needs to be a Chinese name.

I don’t have a Chinese name, only on the chop.

Does anyone own property in Taiwan in their English name?

AFAIK you need a Chinese name. Usually foreigners just use a transliteration of their English name.

Yes its a transliteration of my English name. Just seems like if there is no official record of that being my name ie not on passport, aprc, etc. it will cause problems down the line.

Is that on your ID. My only record of the Chinese name is on the chop stamped on the rep office documents.

Then probably a good idea to get it put on your APRC

Also don’t they attach your ARC/Record of ID number to it anyway?

Went to the Land Office yesterday to complete signing of title transfer.

Each of the transfer papers now has English name written 3-4 times each page, English name printed 1-2 times each page, Chinese transliteration chop stamped 3-4 times on each page and Chinese transliteration written 1-2 times each page.

Saw how the title will be with Chinese transliteration name printed and APRC ID printed. They said the ID won’t change.

All seems ok.
