Can I apply for APRC if I only have income tax statements that cuts across two calendar years?

HI All, my Gold Card is approved in Oct 2025 which means I can only apply for APRC after Oct 2028.

“To apply for an APRC, the applicant must prove that they, in the most recent year (either the past 12 months before application, or the calendar year before application.”

Questions:

  1. Does that mean I can only use Jan 2027 to Dec 2027 income tax statements to apply for APRC?

  2. Can I apply if I only have income tax from Jun 2026 to May 2027? A full 12-months but cuts across two calendar years.

  3. What are the potential pitfalls I need to look out for?

It’s supposed to be possible, but I gather from the APRC group on Facebook that immigration has made this very difficult (impossible?) over the last several months. Some “new rule”, supposedly.

You might want to search in that group for the details. 2028 is pretty far away though.
