Hey all, random question. I recently bought one of these cheap rice cookers in Carrefour and the instructions just say ‘Rice’. I’m wondering if anybody knows if it’s possible to cook brown rice in one of these?
If so how? As I know white rice requires 1.5 cups of water per cup of rice however as brown rice takes much longer to cook i’m wondering if it’s possible?

Yes it can cook. Just put more water 1rice:2water
Yes you can do it, soak the rice in boiling water for a few hours first. Then cook as normal, bit of a pain in the arse if you are in a rush - need to plan ahead.
You can cook anything in a rice cooker, as if it’s a regular pot, it just takes longer and you have to keep topping the water up underneath the pot. The advantage is you can walk away and forget about it, which you can’t do if you’re using a regular gas stove.
