Think thatā€™d be chaos theory

A lot of those questions on the PDFā€™s are ā€œfillersā€, of the ā€œA motorist should drive (1) dangerously (2) responsibly (3) recklesslyā€ style, which just take up space.

Iā€™ve tried to select out the questions that one could actually get wrong, for the Rules-choice (motorcycle) PDF. Might do some more later.

Some of the ā€œofficialā€ answers seem wrong, and some of them I donā€™t understand, but I THINK its better than the last time I looked at this, a few years ago.

054 1 Temporary parking b may not exceed 3 minutes and drivers have to be
ready to move their vehicle at anytime.[/b] (2) may not exceed 10 minutes
and the driver may leave their vehicle. (3) may not exceed 5 minutes.

057 3 If neither the motorcyclist nor their passenger are not wearing a safety
helmet, who will be fined NTD 500? (1) The motorcycle owner. (2).The
passenger. b The motorcycle driver.[/b]

Comment : Double negative, so wrong. Like it matters.

065 3 Motorcycle riders are required to comply with speed limits shown on
signs or markings. On roads that are not marked and do not have traffic
signals, speed markings, or lane lines separating traffic, speed limit is
(1) 20km per hour. (2) 30km per hour. b 40km per hour.[/b]

067 1 Motorcyclists have to comply with the speed limits shown on signs or
pavement markings. If there is no sign nor pavement marking, their speed may not exceed b 50km per hour.[/b] (2) 40km per hour. (3) 30km per hour.

Comment : Note difference between 065 and 067

069 1When driving, motorcyclists b must carry a full set of tools with them.[/b]
(2) do not have to bring any tools with them. (3) There is no law regulating this.

Comment : Oh yeh? Wonder how/if ā€œfull set of toolsā€ is defined

075 1 On a one-way road without any lane lines separating the fast and slow
lanes, b motorcyclists may use either the far right lane or the far left
lane.[/b] (2) motorcyclists may use the far right lane only. (3) motorcyclists
may use any lane they want.

077 3 If a motorcyclist runs a red light, (1) they will be fined NTD 1,200~
3,600 (2) their driverā€™s license will be suspended for one month. b they
will be fined NTD 1,800 ~5,400 and receive 3 traffic violation points on
their driving record[/b]

080 1 Motorcyclists are required to comply with the speed limits shown on
signs. What is the speed limit in the slow-vehicle lane of a road with a
lane line separating the slow and fast vehicle lanes? b 40km per hour.[/b]
(2) 50km per hour. (3) 60km per hour.

Comment :Seems unrealistically slow. Also seems to conflict with 065 above

081 3 Each tap on your horn must (1) not be longer than 2 seconds. (2) not be
longer than 1 second. b not be longer than half a second.[/b]

085 3 Ignoring the instructions given by a police officer or traffic controller
will result in a (1) one-month suspension of your driverā€™s license. (2)
two-month suspension of your driverā€™s license. b being fined and
receiving a traffic violation on your driving record.[/b]

088 2 On roads with no lane line separating the fast and slow lanes,
motorcyclists must stay (1) in the inner lane. b in the 2 outer lanes.[/b] (3)
in the middle of the inner lane.

Comment : I guess ā€œouter laneā€ means RHSide of the road.

103 3 If a driver goes through a pedestrian crosswalk without yielding to any
pedestrians, thus causing either injury or death, the driversā€™ criminal
penalty will be increased by (1) 100%. (2) 200%. b 50%.[/b]

106 3 Drivers who violate traffic rules must pay the fine within how many
days after receiving the citation? (1) 20 days (2) 14 days (3) 30 days.

107 1 If a driver hits and injures an on-duty police officer, b they will be
fined and their driverā€™s license will be cancelled[/b]. (2) they will be fined
and their driverā€™s license will be suspended. (3) they will be fined to the
maximum amount allowed by law.

109 3 What happens if you are caught speeding? (1) You will be fined. (2)
You will be fined and your driverā€™s license will be suspended for one
month. b You will be fined and receive 1 traffic violation point on
your driving record.[/b]

115 3 If a driver lends their driverā€™s license to another person, how long will
their driverā€™s license be suspended? (1) 1 month. (2) 2 months. b 3
months.[/b]

116 1 What is the penalty for weaving in and out of traffic or doing a wheelie
on a motorcycle? b The rider will be fined and their driverā€™s license
will be cancelled.[/b] (2) Their driverā€™s license will be suspended. (3) The
rider will be fined.

Comment : Although the wheelie is indeed the mark of the fuckwit, does seem a bit disproportionate.

118 1 If a driver violates traffic rules and thus causes serious injury or death,
how long will their driverā€™s license be suspended? (1) 3 to 6 months. (2)
1 to 2 months. (3) 2 to 4 months.

Comment : Erā€¦cf wheelie above??

122 1 If motorcyclists are caught using hand-held cell phones, computers, or
other similar devices to call, talk, digitally communicate, or do other
actions that might hinder driving safety, how much is the fine? (1) 1,000
NTD
(2) 1,500 NTD (3) 2,000 NTD.

123 3 If a motorcycle owner knowingly allows a drunk rider to use their
motorcycle, in addition to receiving a fine, how long will their
motorcycle registration be suspended? (1) One month. (2) Two months.
b Three months.[/b]

125 2 Effective January 1,2003, large heavy motorcycles less than 5 years old
with a license plate (1) must be inspected at least once a year. b are
exempt from regular inspection.[/b] (3) must be inspected at least twice a
year.

126 3 To be eligible to apply for a large heavy motorcycle driverā€™s license,
applicants must be (1)16 years or older. (2)18 years or older. (3) 20
years or older.

128 2 If a driver passes another vehicle, makes a U-turn, backs up or drives in
reverse, or stops their vehicle on a railroad crossing, in addition to
receiving a fine, how many traffic violation points will they receive on
their driving record? (1) 1 b 3[/b] (3) 5.

129 1 If a driver forces their way through a railroad crossing, b they will be
fined and receive 3 traffic violation points on their driving record.[/b] (2)
their driverā€™s license will be cancelled. (3) they will only be fined.

130 2 If an automobile driver has received 6 traffic violation points on their
driving record within 6 months, how long will their driverā€™s license be
suspended? (1) 6 months. (2) 1 month. (3) 1 year.

131 3 If an automobile driver has received traffic violation points on their
driving record and their driverā€™s license was suspended twice within a
year for breaking the traffic laws, in addition to receiving more traffic
violation points on their driving record, how will they be punished if
they are caught breaking the traffic laws again? (1) They will be fined.
(2) Their diverā€™s license will be suspended for one month. b Their
driverā€™s license will be cancelled.[/b]

132 2 If a large motorcycle with displacement over 550cc breaks down when
traveling on an expressway, or has an emergency that renders it unable to continue traveling, in addition to immediately notifying the road administration authority or police to request assistance, the driver is required to turn on the warning lights, move the motorcycle off the road, and place a breakdown sign how many meters behind the motorcycle to allow other vehicles to see the motorcycle from 200 meters away at night? (1) 50 meters; b 100 meters[/b]; (3) 200 meters.

135 2 The higher the speed, the longer the braking distance. If the speed
doubles, the required braking distance (1) doubles. b is 4 times greater.[/b]
(3) is 8 times greater.

136 2 As speed increases, the driverā€™s field of view (1) remains the same. b
becomes narrower.[/b] (3) becomes wider.

Comment : Physically this canā€™t be true. Mentally, maybe

145 3 Which of the following is mandatory for motorists who drive large,
heavy motorcycles more than 550 cc on highways or expressways? (1)
They must drive in the designated sections as required by the Ministry
of Transportation and Communications (2) They must drive during the
designated hours as required by the Ministry of Transportation and
Communications i All of the above[/i]

Comment: Are LHMCā€™s time restricted? Probably not , but if they were youā€™d have to do as you were told, so I suppose its not wrong

146 3 Which of the following is required for motorists who drive large, heavy
motorcycles more than 550 cc on highways? (1) Motorists must have a
license for large, heavy motorcycles more than 550 cc for more than a
year (2) Motorists must have at least a small vehicle license b All of
the above.[/b]

Comment : 1 is impossible, so this is a mistake. They meant ā€œheavy motorcycleā€

Oh waitā€¦probably isnā€™t. They mean you have to have a LHMC ticket for a year before you can take it on a freeway (if you could) or expressway. I was mixing that with the need for a HMC ticket for a year before you can get a LHMC ticket. My mistake.

147 2 How much are motorists who drive large, heavy motorcycles more than
550 cc on highways fined if they drive side by side in the same lane or
overtake another car? (1) 3,000 NTD b 6,000 NTD[/b] (3) 12,000 NTD

Comment : Seems to imply LHMCā€™s canā€™t overtake, but probably just means they shouldnā€™t overtake without changing lanes.

148 1 To pass the blood alcohol level test, the breathalyzer test must show that
a driverā€™s blood alcohol level does not exceed: (1) 0.15mg / liter (2) 0.25
mg / liter (3)0.55 mg / liter

Selected Mechanical Knowledgee Choice Q+A

In the ā€œrealā€ world, mechanical questions would be ā€œuniversalā€, since mechanical realities pretty much are (with perhaps minor variations due to climate).

This would mean that, if you had reasonable mechanical knowledge, you could rely on answering these questions correctly.

However, this isnā€™t the real world. This is Taiwan, where, due to a combination of bizarre content (so much HGV/diesel stuff in a motorcycle test?), translation problems, Chinglogic, and perhaps culturally imposed cluelessness, this bit isnā€™t very straightforward.

This selection attempts to pick questions that one might, with a reasonable level of mechanical knowledge, still get wrong.

In many cases this would be because the ā€œofficialā€ answer (and/or the question) is, IMO, absolute bollocks.

(Note: The single digit after the 3-digit question number indicates the ā€œcorrectā€ answer)

002 3 Diesel engine compression refers to (1) compressing pure diesel fuel. (2)
compressing a mixture of air and diesel fuel. (3) compressing pure air.

Comment : presumably because the fuel is injected separately, but at some points in the cycle a mixture is being compressed.

005 2 Which of the following is the normal operating temperature of a diesel engine?(1) 70 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit. (2) 75 to 95 degrees Celsius. (3) 140 to 180 degrees Celsius.

Comment : presumably refers to coolant temp.

009 2 If the vehicle runs out of diesel fuel when the engine is running, you need to (1)add fuel to the tank. (2) fill up the fuel tank and get rid of any air in the fuel lines.(3) Both statements are correct.

Comment : Since 1 is contained in 2, Both statements are in fact, and inevitably, correct.

012 1 If the air pressure in the tires is too low, which of the following will happen? (1) The sidewalls of the tires will wear out faster. (2) The tire treads will wear down faster. (3) This will have no damaging affect on the tires.

Comment : Simplistic. Itā€™ll be 1 and 2

018 3 If brake oil in one braking system of a dual-braking system is leaking, what will happen? (1) The braking system will still work for three tires. (2) Both of the breaking systems will fail completely. (3) The brakes will still work for the tires on one end of the car.

Comment : IIRC the split is usually diagonal, so this is wrong

027 1 If the clutch pedal gap increases too much, (1) you will have hard time shifting.(2) the engine will put out less horsepower (Hp). (3) the clutch will slip.

Comment : I suppose ā€œclutch pedal gapā€ means pedal free travel

029 1 The air pressure difference between the two double-mounted tires at the rear of a large truck should not be higher than (1) 5%. (2) 15%. (3) 25%. Otherwise, the tires will more easily have a blowout.

Comment: This is a motorcycle test question?

031 1 To park a manual drive vehicle, you must shift into (1) Park Ā§. (2) Reverse Ā®). (3) Neutral (N) and use the hand (emergency) brake at the same time.

Comment : ā€œmanual drive vehiclesā€ donā€™t have (1) Park Ā§ so this is wrong

032 3 Under normal driving conditions, the engine temperature (1) is higher in the winter. (2) is lower in the summer. (3) varies.

Comment : not by much

039 3 What kind of oil do you put in a 4-stroke engine? (1) Oil mixed with gasoline.(2) Lubrication oil. (3) Regular oil.

Comment : Meaningless Q + A / distinction

040 3 What is the normal color of smoke discharged by a 4-stroke gasoline engine? (1) Black. (2) Blue and white. (3) Itā€™s colorless.

Comment : Then it isnā€™t ā€œsmokeā€

046 2 How do you make it impossible to start a gasoline engine? (1) Cut off the fuel supply. (2) Disable the spark plugs. (3) Reduce the master cylinder pressure.

Comment : 1+2 will both do it, unless you consider that an engine started on residual fuel has had its fuel supply cut off. (it hasnā€™t, not yet)

049 2 What are the advantages of having a turbocharger? (1) It improves the
performance of an idling engine. (2) It enhances the performance of an engine
running at medium or high speeds. (3) It improves the performance of an engine running at a constant speed.

057 2 If the fluid level in the overflow tank of the cooling system gets too high, itā€™s
probably because (1) the radiator is leaking. (2) the radiator cap was not completely tightened. (3) the vehicle cooling system doesnā€™t have a thermostat.

Comment : Uh?

059 3 The air filter is designed to (1) prevent dust from getting into the cylinders. (2) prevent combustion and fire in the exhaust pipe. (3) Both statements are correct.

Comment : WTF? - I suppose this is a mis-translated / misunderstood reference to a ā€œflame arrestorā€ function of the air filter in the event of a backfire. Dunno if modern paper elements are really effective in that role, but I suppose ye olde wire mesh/oilbath ones might have been.

Still wouldnā€™t start a ā€œfire in the exhaust pipeā€, unless the engine was running backwards and the intake manifold became the exhaust pipe. This super-esoteric situation (in a diesel) actually appears as a test question elsewhere:

In a MOTORCYCLE test, already. :unamused:

062 1 Which is the best cooling water for engines? (1) Distilled water. (2) Hard water.(3) Water mixed with minerals.

Comment : Iā€™ve seen this disputed, but I suppose its received opinion

066 2 If you use the clutch too often, which of the following parts will probably
become damaged? (1) The clutch bearings. (2) The clutch. (3) The clutch fork.

Comment : Assuming you can ā€œuse the clutch too oftenā€ (?) why not all of them?

067 2 When clutch is worn out, it (1) becomes looser. (2) becomes tighter. (3) makes no difference.

Comment : Dunno what ā€œ(2) becomes tighter ā€œ means. Suppose the pedal travel is reduced?

069 3 If thereā€™s no gap between the brake pedal and the floorboard, the (1) brakes wonā€™t function well. (2) the brakes will function better. (3) the brakes will stick and not work.

Comment : Meaningless question/distinction

070 1 The clutch in a rear-wheel drive vehicle is located (1) in front of the
transmission. (2) behind the transmission. (3) inside the transmission.

Comment : ā€œtransmissionā€ is apparently being mis-translated as gearbox here ( or thatā€™s American English? ā€“ which is sort of an institutionalised mis-translation) because the clutch is part of the transmission.

077 2 If you drive a car normally, as the mileage increases, the clutch will (1) gradually become looser. (2) gradually become tighter. (3) remain the same.

Comment : Again, dunno what ā€œ(2) become tighter ā€œ means here. Suppose the pedal travel is reduced?

080 1 The longer you drive a vehicle, the gap between the brake pedal and the
floorboard (1) will become larger. (2) will become smaller. (3) stay the same.

Comment : Uh? Pretty sure hydraulic brakes are self-adjusting and the brake pedal height should not change with pad/shoe wear, though the level of brake fluid in the master cylinder reservoir drops. This isnā€™t a ref to cable-brakes on mcā€™s, since they donā€™t have ā€œfloorboardsā€. Scooters do but hardly any of them have brake pedals.

081 2 Unbalanced tires are likely to cause (1) the engine to seriously vibrate. (2) the car to pull to one side during braking. (3) nothing.

Comment : Iā€™d bet on 3 (in reality, not in this test)

087 2 You should change the engine oil and the transmission fluid (1) when the engine is shut off and cold. (2) after you have started the vehicle and the engine is starting to warm up. (3) anytime, no matter whether the engine is hot or cold.

Comment : This implies you change fluids with the engine running, FFS

092 3 The differential in a front-wheel drive vehicle is located (1) behind the clutch. (2) at the rear end of the drive shaft. (3) inside the transmission.

093 3 Which of the following is the main purpose served by rear axle ratio? (1) To make it easier to reduce speed. (2) To enable the left and right wheels to spin at different speeds when turning. (3) Both statements are correct.

Comment : Both statements are utter bollocks, as is the question

096 1 If you get grease on your tires, you should clean the grease off with (1) clean water. (2) regular gasoline. (3) diesel.

Comment : Good luck with that

108 3 Battery fluid consists of (1) pure sulfuric acid. (2) distilled water. (3) sulfuric acid mixed with distilled water.

Comment : Ambiguous: could be either 2 or 3. Stuff you buy labeled ā€œbattery fluidā€ is distilled water

127 2 If you remove the battery terminal cables when the engine is running, which of the following will burn out? (1) The battery. (2) Any electrical devices turned on at that time. (3) The ignition coil.

Comment : due to unfiltered voltage spikes from the alternator

128 1 A fuel injection engine is ignited by (1) spark plugs. (2) a glow plug. (3) high temperature self-combustion.

Comment : Should say ā€œgasoline fuel injection engineā€, to exclude diesels

132 1 If the alternator starts making a squeaking noise, (1) either the bearings are worn out or the front axle is bent. (2) thereā€™s too much spring action in the carbon brush spring. (3) thereā€™s not enough spring action in the carbon brush spring .

Comment : ā€œFront axleā€ presumably is supposed to mean alternator rotor shaft here

From the Mechanical Knowledgee Simulated Test

Vehicles are more fuel efficient when driven at high speeds. Therefore, you should drive as fast as you want.

I said F, they say T??

A very dirty air filter will cause the vehicle to burn more fuel and have less engine power (Hp).

I say T, they say F??

Before you check the oil, you should park your car on a flat area and only check the oil while the engine is still running.

They say T, which is nuts

With an ABS braking system, itā€™s easier to control the vehicle when you stop abruptly.

They say F. Whatā€™s it for, then?

Seems to be pretty random.

Have you looked at the new updated car Test?

The Road Rules - multiple choice part is insanely difficult, they now include the punishment for every road infraction, despite them being all almost identical (look for category ā€œ2ā€ questions). 460+ questions, and now a majority are now not only non-guessable, but they require some serious memorization.

Thatā€™s next. I passed the old one a while ago, but failed the car ā€œpracticalā€ a couple of times, and have just driven on an IDP. I donā€™t like the sound of your description AT ALL.

However, ā€œinsanely difficultā€, while itā€™s bad news if you want to pass the test, is sort-of justifiable/acceptable.

Whatā€™s hard to accept, from anā€¦erā€¦western perspectiveā€¦is having to learn stuff that is meaningless and/or demonstrably/obviously WRONG.

This exercise is tending to confirm my guesses about the cultural reasons for the attitudes of my students here.

Lip service to ā€œcritical thinkingā€ in syllabi notwithstanding, in general they REALLY donā€™t like to think, and donā€™t expect to have to. They resent it as an unusual and unreasonable imposition.

This MIGHT be because they have been subjected to this sort of shite all their lives, and have found that thinking has no utility.

I think it is really important to get a drivers license. If you get into an accident without one the fines are huge and you will be financially held responsible even if it is not your fault. The hospital is if you live in Hsinchu. If you live in another city, just find out what hospital you need to go to.

  1. First go to RT mart or another place that takes pictures (get a set that has half large pictures and half small pictures ) It mentions which ones can be used for a license. You need this for your medical and your drivers test.

  2. Second, go for a medical at this hospital and be sure to tell them it is for your license. You can go at 8:30pm at night for sure (thatā€™s when I went) and probably during the day also.

  1. Go to the DMV in Hsinchu on a Wednesday or Friday at the following times to take the test:

8:40am, 10:40am, 12:40pm, or 3:40pm

Arrive about 20 minutes prior to that time so that you have time to pay and check in.

You will first take the written test on a computer (must get 85% or higher) and then the driving test.

You must pass the written part of the test to be able to move onto the driving part. If you fail, you must wait 7 days before you can retest. If you fail just the writing portion, you do not need to retake the written test, but be sure to keep all your paperwork.

Before taking the driving test refer to these videos first:

Couple of tips: Be sure to open the car door slightly before getting in and check to the right and left before you get in (simulating checking for cars and scooters). Once you get in buckle your seat belt and lock the door. Then release the parking brake, put the car in drive and check all blind spots before proceeding. Be sure to use your turn signal on ALL turns, even when parallel parking. When driving into the S-shape, do not touch the sensors going forward, backing up it doesnā€™t matter.

Also, be sure to bring your ARC and driverā€™s license from your home country to the DMV.

Hope this helps!

This doesnā€™t appear to make sense.

Of course, in THIS context, nonsense is par-for-the-course, so that doesnā€™t mean it isnā€™t true, but Iā€™d guess you meant

ā€œIf you just fail the driving/riding portion, you do not need to retake the written testā€¦ā€

OK, I know. WHY is such an uncool-uptight-western-anal-logical question. Butā€¦erā€¦WHY would I want to do that?

Pro - um- helps keep the door shut and bodyshell more rigid in a crash.
Pro - um - gives me some protection from baseball-bat wielding taxi-drivers.
Con - um - increases my chances of being trapped in a burning vehicle.

Is it actually specified in the Taiwan driving or test regulations? Should I insist the tester locks their door as well?

(Should I fix their door lock?)

Re the bullshit ā€œMechanical Knowledg-gee Testā€, Iā€™d misunderstood/been mis-informed.

This test doesnā€™t seem to be part of the motorcycle test, since I wasnā€™t asked to do it when I sat the computer-based written bit.

Dunno who its for but Iā€™d guess maybe truck drivers.

Damn!

One of those vids says you can no longer take the test using your own car.

When did they bring that one in?

Makes it MUCH more difficult, and of course a nice little monopoly-enhancer for the schools.

That actually makes sense though doesnā€™t it? Youā€™re not allowed to own a car until you have a valid driving license. Unsure if student driving license counts.

Also it removes some variables; I can imagine people breezing through the test in a tiny Smart car for example, or complaining their SUV doesnt fit on the track.

Yes you are (or were). Iā€™ve bought (and registered) three without a Taiwan license. I had an IDP which was (sometimes) valid, but never had to produce it.

You probably can no longer register one in your name, but AFAIK that doesnā€™t stop you owning one.

It wouldnā€™t stop you being driven by a friend or instructor to a test centre either. You used to be able to test in your own car. Its mentioned in several older threads, and Iā€™ve seen people doing it. Didnā€™t do it myself, because I didnā€™t have a car when I tried the test, and the unfamiliar semi-knackered car I rented didnā€™t help.

Currently you can use your own machine for the ā€œordinaryā€ motorcycle test. They probably wonā€™t bother to change that for a while because thereā€™s not so much money in it.

IF the test had any relevance to driving, IF that was the vehicle they were going to be driving on the road, then itā€™d make most sense for them to be tested in it. IF an SUV doesnā€™t fit on the track, it tends to emphasise the irrelevance of the track.

It DOES make sense, though.

It makes sense, as I said, because it enhances the driving schools near-monopoly bizniz model, which is what the whole institutionalised scam is for.

What other function could the Taiwan driving test have?

Got one of the office-ladies to check for me (reinforcing my bloody-nuisance persona).

Apparently (usual lost-in-translation/YMMV caveats applied) you can still test in your own car in Tainan.

The fact that the opposite is on an official-looking video may be an indication of the shape of things to come though, and makes me think Iā€™d better get my grades in and get testing.

As you were (probably)

The office lady above checked the website and told me it said I could test in my own car.

Hereā€™s the webpage

Iā€™m told the relevant bit is Section 7

I suggested the website might be out of date.

So she phoned the DMV and spoke to someone (?) who apparently confirmed I could test in my own car.

This morning I was in the Tainan DMV with the GF, asking about test times, and they apparently told her I could NOT test in my own car.

So it depends on who you talk to and /or how and where they they source and interpret the rules, which are written in Chinese, which probably gives them some smoke and mirrors capability.

But Iā€™d guess our informant yesterday didnā€™t have the latest scoop on the scam.

SLightly offtopic but also kinda relatedā€¦

Is it still true that the theory test is good enough for 50cc scooters, and no practice test is required?

Itā€™s going to be much easier to get an International Driving Permit than to take the scooter exam in Taiwan to get a local TW license:

travel.gc.ca/travelling/document ā€¦ ing-permit

I put up an Anki deck for studying for the scooter written driving test here: ankiweb.net/shared/info/1274417947

I tagged about 120 questions as easy, medium, or hard, as well as a couple as both hard and wrong =). Focusing on the hard and medium ones should help you study a little more efficiently.

In July this year they added 1,000 questions to the scooter rules section, and I found it pretty tough to pass consistently, so I made this deck. Iā€™ll create and share one for cars too.

If anyone wants to point out additional questions that are hard, please drop a comment here, thanks!!
