I’m trying to embed an Instagram reel, but it seems that it’s not possible.
I either get a static image or a link to the reel on Instagram.
A Google search suggested I try pasting the link I get from “embed” on the three dots in the top right corner of the reel, but that doesn’t seem to work either.
Is that a Discorse issue, a missing Forumosa plugin or something else?

I think you need to go through an app review process by IG for it. It seems problematic

Do you mean the I need to do it? Or “you” as the website that wants to embed it, in this case Forumosa?

Tweets don’t seem to be embedding properly either…just the link shows up. Never had this problem before.

Yeah Twitter has changed things. They considered making that capability a for-pay service, but I think they’ve backtracked on it. I’m waiting to see how it shakes out before trying to fix it.

Twitter is pretty simple, setting up FB or IG is too much for me at present.
Your choice, but you’re risking alienating many of Forumosa’s four young people if you don’t adapt to changing trends in social media use.
