You know the capsule hotels they have in Japan where they give you the jammie jams you have to wear and there’s the communal baths and stuff, and you have to check out every day?
I love those. Very relaxing. Why aren’t there any in Taiwan? Or if there is, where is it?
Taiwan (especially Taipei) has tons of hotels with bunk beds.
Great for families of 4 or more or for backpackers (cheap, too).
That’s about as much knowledge I have on “cubbyhole” hotels, as the rooms are small, with heavy curtain for each bed and with communal (separate for sexes) showers and bathrooms.
Yeah I’ve been to a few of those. They’re alright but have nothing on the ones in Japan. I wonder if there is a market for them here. Business opportunity :0
probably unlikely, because Taipei real estate not at the point of where Tokyo is for costs per square meter. it all comes down to costs. Those bunkbed hotels are making a ton of money as is at prices that are ridiculously cheap per night.
I don’t really follow. That sounds look a good thing for a potential business here
The missus just said there are capsule hotels around Tpe main station and Banciao main station.
That makes sense as those locations are congested and popular for quick tourists or cheap business people. Perhaps they can be found in Taichung and Kaohsiung, although those two cities have cheaper real estate and hence less likelihood for capsule hoteks.
There are a few here in Kenting too.
There are quite a few capsule hotels in Taipei, and more that have enclosed bunk-like beds with curtains and walls on three sides but aren’t really “capsules”. I stay at the Dongmen Capsule Inn (that’s in the second category), at Xinyi Rd and Jinshan. I never ended up going there but HeyBear looks nice on the web. There’s one of those in Sanchong and another in Jiufen I believe. It’s the “real” capsules in that one.
I’d say I’ve seen one or two capsule hotels in Taipei, announced like that.
I see them around Taiwan frequently and sometimes make a mental note. But my mental notes have been pushed out by other mental notes.
Oh yes, the heybear one looks like it has proper capsules, as opposed to the ones that are just hostels with boxes to sleep in instead of bunk beds.
Doesn’t look like it has the baths or relaxation areas like the ones I’m thinking of though. Or the mandatory PJs.
to be a proper capsule hotel, you need piped porn movies and sufficient privacy for masturbation. bunk bed dormitories don’t actually count.
Especially if one is unlucky enough to be in the bottom bunk
If someone Masturbates in an upright position , what then… in your tube of love ? I resisted the urge to use “erect”.
OK, spill. I must know about the mandatory PJs. Have not seen this yet.
fify
They give you these robes you have to wear in the lounge and capsule areas. I thought I wasn’t going to like it at first, but it somehow adds to the feeling of relaxation.
Like this
Real estate sales prices are higher in Taipei then Tokyo on average per square meter. But the rental yields are lower.
