Car mechanics labour rates?

I dunno if they quote on that basis, but I wonder if anyone knows what the “typical” range is, say Main-dealer to back street blackhand?

Anything from $200 USD per hour to a six pack of beer.

In Taiwan? About $750 to $1000 an hour is what I budget.

An oil change is 6liters of oil and 30 minutes for my car. So with oil, filter and consumables I budget $1500.

I never go to a dealer so can’t comment on their prices.

Thanks. Its not for me, of course. I just wanted to “contribute” to a discussion on the Honest John website.

That rate is half the lowest UK rate quoted, which should piss them of a bit.
