I want to buy a car, I’m told there are taxes of $ 10,000 to be paid, which they want to add onto the price.
Are these my taxes, is it the buyer or the seller who pays them??
Is this a one time pay deal or is every time the car is sold the taxes need to be paid… or yearly…
It could be either the annual registration fee, or the annual fuel tax.
My impression (no more than that) was that it was conventional for the seller to pay the due taxes, but I suppose its down to individual negotiation.
Taxes are due irrespective of a sale, but the DMV won’t transfer registration until outstanding taxes are paid.
