Looks like real oak to me. 
Looks just like my apartment. which is 100% “wood” floors.

Cats are smart…with limitations. They are way too curious and do not perceive danger that well:
So do not think “he won’t do that, he knows better”. The cat will jump from that balcony, leap into the bbq grill, slap that candle. For starters.
