Don’t think this is the right place for this question, but…
I’m trying to get this permanent residency deal going as quickly as possible. I’ve already talked to the Wai Shi Jing Cha and know the basic requirements. However, as with anything bureacratic-process-wise in Taiwan, there’s a big hurdle I don’t know how to overcome. I need to get some sort of form showing I don’t have a criminal record back in the US. AIT, helpful as always, told me all I have to do is fly back to California and politely ask the Escondido police department for it. Thanks a *@(# lot!
Now I’ve heard that one can go on the FBI website and somehow upload the necessary documents to be fingerprinted and sent back to the US for processing, but I went there and didn’t find squat, other than top-secret security clearance stuff.
Other than a four-day trip home, does anyone know how to get this form? Also, any other tips on expediting this process? I’m in a bit of a rush…
