Celestial lanterns: alternatives to Pinxi

Since Pinxi gets so crowded (and private cars are restricted), can anyone confirm if one can see/fly celestial lanterns anywhere else, for instance:

In Taipei and Taipei County

  1. Bitan
  2. Youth Park
  3. any other river park area

They were lighting them off outside my Muzha apartment tonight in an empty lot the community uses a few times a year for activities. Also seen them down at Bitan.

Pingxi is worth it though. But best to go on the first weekend (obviously not an option now).
