Cell phone contract

Hello everyone,

I have a 3-year contract with a cell phone company here, but have to leave during my second year due to covid reasons. The company wants me to pay a ton of money to cancel the contract. Should I just leave the country and not pay anything else? I don’t plan on coming back by the way. Thanks!

You should pay or try to negotiate. Not paying is the reason why we have so many issues with phone companies and banks here. Do not do illegal things.

Secondly, you’ll be on the hook when you want to come back if they sell your debt to a debt collector or sue you in absentia.

Pay the NCC a visit to see if they can advocate on your behalf.

i didn’t think they would often ask for that much money, and i guess you are on contract because you got a phone cheap, do the morale thing …karma…and all that
