This morning I decided for the first time to take a picture of bad parked cars, it’s the first but won’t be the last. Mind you this is in front of local government building, no police that acts on this wild parked cars … BTW, to the left and right of this car are all scooter parking markings, guess what’s parked instead … right, cars.
Not too long time ago it was the same here in Longtan but since 2 weeks it’s much better, still some wrong parked cars once a while but the “scooter cops” are patroling all the time and give out tickets. They even hunt away cars which are “just” holding in 2nd row with running engine and driver inside.
Tell you, the faces of the drivers who had to leavd were priceless. 
that’s merely a pre-election campaign thing.
Things will be back to its old self in a few months.
That is, 3 steps forward, to steps back kind of thing.
They have had 2-3 campaigns in Yangmei in the time I have lived there.
Come on, if the locals park like that, so can we. There are not enough parking spaces, so just park whereever you like and be thankful the cops don’t care. Can’t do that back home now can you. Forget the chaos. Use it to your advantage. Drive the way you like and park the way you like. Enjoy. Just be careful when you go home if you picked up any bad habits while you are here.
parking? who cares? do what ever you like. if someone has a problem with it then just do what everyone else does: pull out your tire iron and start smashing crap up. don’t forget to keep your cell phone handy to call up all your friends to help you. wouldn’t want to lose face and be seen as a lonely, guanxi-less foreigner. god help you, because no one else can.
