there was the examples from one of the discord servers given by an anonymous friend, and Robinson wrote in a similar fashion- generally complete sentences, vowels intact, no emojis, maybe just some capitalisation and punctuation omitted.
maybe trying to protect Twiggs by making him look innocent
edit: not sure if the messages between the “roommates” were texts messages or discord, but I think it was the latter, and getting a private company to be in on it seems like it would be a challenge.
Makes me wonder how much does Israel depend on the Christian right in congress for support? Especially now when many moderate and left leaning jewry are probably abandoning support for them??
I think it is crazy to think Israel would have anything to do with it…. The US has its own polarised radical nonsense.
Sure they just happened to make a “business decision” the day Trump’s FCC chair made this comment
Hours earlier, FCC Chair Brendan Carr told conservative podcaster Benny Johnson that Kimmel’s comments were “truly sick,” and that there was a “strong case” for action against ABC and Disney.
“This is a very, very serious issue right now for Disney. We can do this the easy way or the hard way,” Carr said. “These companies can find ways to take action on Kimmel or there is going to be additional work for the FCC ahead.”
These things happen all the time!
Anyway, the comments are the problem regardless of the motivation for Disney’s decision. Just wanted to point that out again, though I understand it’s presumably not in dispute.
But I think it was a combo of not wanting the feds on them, show was tanking anyways, and Kimmel might want to save face instead of limping towards the end of his contract in Spring of 2026. I can’t imagine they were going to renew his contract when he lost 40% viewership this year alone.
Sure, if they thought they could scrape another nickel out of him despite the weight of the federal government threatening to bear down on them, they might have cobbled some kind of backbone together. Nevertheless, the presence of “not wanting the feds on them” in that equation tells the whole story under these circumstances.
i think the ratings thing is being overstated. To compare august to january makes no sense. there is a summer lull. plus, he was on vacation for 2 months from what I understand, returning in september.
or maybe it was a 2 week break… not sure as i don’t watch it
apparently guest hosts filled in during break and new season started sept. 2
Even if the tone of the texts somehow (and I still don’t think so) coincide with Robinson’s typing persona, I still am completely hung up by the topical nature of the messages.
Why on earth would Robinson mess up his own meme, and even more stupidly, why would he need to tell Twiggs that his Dad is MAGA? If they actually were in a relationship, if Twiggs even knew Robinson’s background a little, this would already have been well established. No shit Robinson’s family was MAGA.
