How would having a chat channel benefit forum discourse or information sharing?

We do, but it’s only for regulars (people who post a certain amount). But if you ask one of the admins, they may approve you, I dunno. You’re not missing too much, it’s not very lively.
Now now, there have been a total of six posts through July and August.

What exactly did you have in mind?
Chat seems more appropriate for current affairs, news article commentary. This sort of chatter in a thread is fine, just curious if the chat format would work. I remember the Regular room never really took off.
Oh yeah, I have to post to keep access to the regular lounge and chat. Don’t want to miss anything important!
Most people here are married or have a girl. Enough chatting for the day. Would an occasional grunt be okay with you? A chat for grunting?

I usually post (or “chat”) when I’m on the toilet, and for some reason my wife doesn’t want to join me there.
