Yeah, I know the place is crammed with them, 
but I’m looking for something specific and my Chinese is really bad, so I was hoping to get some pointers from people who would have a better idea than me.
I’m looking for children’s literature that has really simple Chinese, preferably with bo po mo fo too, that would interest an 8 year old boy (i.e. Spongebob Squarepants, Sonic the Hedgehog, that kind of thing). The very basic Chinese books I’ve seen so far are, understandably, aimed at much younger children. Not sure if I’m on a loser here but I thought it was worth asking.
I found a publisher at the book fair that has the first lot of books my kids have been interested in! I asked their staff to pick some books out that were more interesting than the traditional style Chinese books for kids but still good quality.
They have some cool/funny comic books that my son actually picks up above his English books at the moment. One in particular is the comic about the dog and monkey that set off on adventures (based on a Japanese TV show).

Their books are for sale online and in the bookstores in the underground walkway between Chungshan and Shunglian MRT stations. You could print out a page from their site and take it to get directions to the right store.
Alternatively, spend some time digging round the kids’ library at school. I just reorganised my kids’ school library and found some real gems in there. They actually have an excellent selection of science-related comic books for young children that my son hadn’t seen before. (He’s a reluctant reader of Chinese, so they have to be good to get him reading!)

Thanks asiababy, that’s exactly what I’m looking for.
I don’t think I’ll be coming to the market day as I don’t need anything and don’t have anything to sell! (Lovely though it would be to see you all again, and your socks are waiting by my door to be given back to you.
