I use ancestry.com and Family Tree Maker for my genealogy work and they work fine for me. They don’t accommodate Chinese characters, though. However, my wife, who is Taiwanese, would like to document her family tree. We haven’t been able to find any Chinese language software that she could use so she is just using a spreadsheet. Any recommendations?
Many thanks!

I don’t know anything about this subject, but because a couple of days have gone by and your post hasn’t been replied to, I’ll chime in.
I Googled around a little, and saw that a poster named mapsacro on a site called gizmo’s freeware has made a comment about genealogy software that supports Chinese characters:
techsupportalert.com/best-fr … ent-120220
Disclaimer: I cannot vouch for the accuracy of his comment. I don’t know anything about the software he mentions, so I can’t guarantee the software, and I can’t guarantee that it won’t be harmful.
I hope this helps, or at least doesn’t make things worse.

i tried to use several open source genealogy softwares, but they don’t support Chinese characters or even Chinese names all that well either…
Many thanks Charlie Jack and hansioux. According to my wife there is a genealogy program recommended on the Household Registration website but I was unable to install the Chinese language package for the software. I think she may be stuck using spreadsheets for now.
