Anybody else get “parcel delivery failed” emails from Chunghwa post? I called the real Chunghwa Post and they said it’s a scam as they don’t send out emails for delivery notice. The emails actually look somewhat convincing.
No, but I get them every now and then from “DHL” and “Fedex”, all drop into the spam folder, and I delete them for good. Opening any attachment will likely see you having to clean the Malware from your computer at a minimum.
I got one of those, but it’s obviously just spam. The link goes to some random server in Siberia.
I got one.
I sort of fell for it cause I have a parcel due in NZ today and I wasn’t 100% sure the address was right. Fortunately being a smart bear I used a card with no money on it to pay the 300NT. They tried four times to max the card out then my bank zapped the card.
My wife was expecting a package. She usually is. So i half believed it. But then i was like…how the fuck do they have my email?
Yes.
Yeah that’s where I ducked up. I should have remembered I never gave my email.
This?
I mean, they don’t even offer online application for online banks… anything electronic about the post office is a scam
Best standard procesure is call the service directly to confirm. these scams shouldnt ever work as they should never be read or opened. Be it bank, post, insurance or whatever. Always assume its own scam, and you never get screwed
The post will send an sms if you use your cell number in registered parcels and ems. But just to let you know they have been sent. If something was returned, they call you or you check the tracking number in person or on their website, which works very well.

The tracking system here domestically is kind of shitty (hence black cats popularity). But international airmail and ems is excellent. I have shipped for many years and probably nearing 100 countries from taiwan. Thousands of packages, and only have had a handfull of things truly go MIA. Its almost always the destination country that messes it up. Ironically, the taiwan post EMS tracking is far superior to the actual EMS website haha. Its one of the few government systems i feel actually works extremely well with little pain.
Yes, got quite a number of them recently. Given that quite a few formosans seem to have received the emails we must have something in common that the email addresses were taken from. This forum? Some online ordering site in Taiwan? Mine started after ordering from a foreign owned local website, was expecting a delivery the day I received the first email.
Never by e-mail.
If you use the post office to send and receive packages, you notice they always ask for a phone number.
My wife gets a lot of packages. If the delivery fails and you give them your cell number, you’ll get text telling you to go to a location of one of their machines with a Pin number.
You enter your phone number and pin. Your compartment opens and you claim your package.
Pretty sweet but I prefer to deal with humans. People need jobs. All jobs matter.
If it’s from Chunghwa Post and in English, that should tip you off that something is amiss. ![]()

Maybe it’s a scam directed at foreigners by foreigner-hating locals!
Well they used my old email so I suspect they’re targeting our site. I don’t use that email for anything much these days. Oh, except for Uber Eats…
Click on nothing boys, click on nothing.
I have received the email as well and forwarded it to chunghua post. They replied that it was a scam, which I suspected. I got another one recently as well as an “urgent reminder”.
They wouldn’t be able to find your email on this site unless you posted it.
Je t’accuse Uber Eats
Usually around here we like to blame the Panda.

Certainly did. It’s also obvious that whoever sent the emails knew the recipients were likely English speaking foreigners so the source of email addresses must be connected with a database of English speaking foreigners in Taiwan.
