I moved to a new apt (= new internet, 100/40mbit) which works fine so far, but I have problems logging into one of my games. It seems like this is a router issue, since a usb-hotspot via phone let me login into the game.
I guess some port is not opened, but I can’t login to the routers interface (I have found the login though https://192.168.1.1/login.html).
I tried the following logins:
admin/admin
admin/password
user/user
cht/chtnadsl
Does anyone know the login? It doesnt say on the back of the router
Used to be this - cht/chtnvdsl in north Taiwan, cht/chtcvdsl for central Taiwan and cht/chtsvdsl for south Taiwan. Don’t know if they still use those as I haven’t used CHT in years.
I had mine replaced with CHT a couple of months back. The connection (both wired to my PC and wifi to my phone) kept dropping randomly and needing the router to be power cycled, which didn’t always work either. It was also around 5 years old and besides the connection problem seemed to run quite hot.
The CHT engineer couldn’t reproduce the problem while he was here — because it was intermittent and not happening at the time — and he blamed the second wireless router I’d plugged into the CHT one for a better signal (not the problem, because the wired connection to the CHT router was also dropping). He did eventually replace the router when I insisted there really was a problem, but he didn’t want to do it.
If you don’t have a problem with the connection in the first place, I feel like they’d be even more reluctant to replace it.
Looks like I’ll be calling Chunghwa again later today! My router, or I think its power adapter, just tried to set itself on fire.
I was mooching around in the living room at 4:30 a.m. and heard some scary-sounding electrical crackling then smelled the burning electrics. I tracked it down to an inactive router and a power adapter that was still very hot to the touch and no longer supplying power (as checked using a multimeter).
Just for posterity, I’m quite satisfied with Chunghwa’s customer service and how quickly they’ve fixed stuff both times I’ve needed to call them.
I wasn’t able to report the problem online because the system wouldn’t accept any of the last four digits of the account holder’s ID numbers I tried putting in, but I called 123 at 3:15 p.m. today, immediately got connected with an English translator (as opposed to an English-speaking customer service rep), and was told they’d try to send someone tomorrow afternoon at the earliest. The engineer called back at 3:35 p.m. to say he could come now, and he was here within 10 minutes to replace the power adapter. Quite impressive!
