Anyone know if this is available in Taiwan?
I’ve seen home preg tests in drugstores here, but can’t say what brand they were.
Thanks,
I’ve found a few in drugstores but generally no English directions and no indication of sensitivity.
My husband and I are trying to get pregnant and the overseas brands I think will be much more reliable…
Try COSMED. They even have basal thermometers with instructions in English. Actually, the pregnancy tests here, as the rest of medical equipment, are of quite reasonable quality and reliability.
Hmm, something like that is probably going to be tough to find here. You might want to consider having friends or relatives send you some in a care package from home, or ordering them online to be shipped here.
I’ve used the pregnancy tests here and have gotten a positive as early as three days before the time my period should have arrived.
There are also ovulation tests available at all the drugstores.
Also there is a great site to track your fertility fertilityfriend.com/
Most medical equipment in Taipei can be found in Kaifung Street about 1/2 block from camera row. (Boai) At least 3 stores along that block sell just about eveything medical that anybody would want? or need. Surprising to find that some diabetes supplies that are so expenive in the U.S. are cheap here and made here. Ok. Guess that’s not too surprising.

Why do u suspect that an overseas brand is more reliable for a product which is more or less standardized?

I agree, the ones you can here are just as good as overseas brands. IMO anyways.
And you don’t even have to seach a day or two - you can get the pee on a stick-test in 7-11 and family-mart!!
Best of luck, by the way!! :discodance:
Just buy them from 7-11. There are two or three different kinds there, all of which are highly reliable. No need to send away and pay through the nose for essentially the same product.
As Typhoon says, what makes you think the local brands are any less sensitive or reliable than the foreign ones? They’re not. Pee on the strip, wait a few minutes, look for the two lines. Accept the end of life as you knew it.

Right. I never thought about the fertility monitor part of it. Sorry.
Dragonbabe says Watsons sells pee sticks that test whether you’re ovulating, but she couldn’t find the Clearblue Easy.
And here is a test based on saliva that is supposed to tell you where you are in your cycle, for fertility monitoring or rhythm method purposes, $590, but it’s all in Chinese. The company’s address is 台北縣中和市景新街410巷18弄6號 Taibei County, Zhonghe city, Jingxin St., Lane 410, Alley 18, #6.
MRT Zhonghe Line:get off at Nanshijiao station, exit 4 Xingnan Rd. Cross Xingnan Rd. and go to Xinyi Rd. (tourist site ). Go to the second alley on the left (Jingxin jie
No guarantee on whether there are English instructions or exactly how it works, though.
The ovulation tests available at 7/11, watsons etc are also urine tests and very easy to use. The instructions are bilingual.
