Company not active, any time limit before closing?

When you start a limited company and that there is no business activity for a while, does the government (regulation) request you to close down the company after a certain time limit? Or are you the one to decide when to close it down?
Let’s say the trading (buying/selling goods, service) activity didn’t start as expected, and there is no guarantee when it will start.

While I can’t say about Taiwan specifically, I have opened businesses in a couple other countries and no, there generally is no pressure to close an inactive or shell business. To apply such pressure would be pointlessly anti-business no?

There is no request to close the company. But you must file VAT on time. If you stop file VAT too long (up to 12 months), you tax office might notice MOEA, then MOEA will invalidated the company, and it can’t be recover.

You may have 3 choices
1.Don’t apply for any thing and keep filing VAT.
2.Apply for temporarily stop operation up to 12 months. it can be recover at any time .
3.Apply for dissolved company.
