Computer repair place with a BGA machine?

For the second time in as many years my laptop graphics card has stuffed up.

It’s blessed with the dreaded NVidia over heating problem where the solder gets too hot and the GPU chip comes away from the mainboard :frowning:

Last time this happened, I took it along to a repair place in Bangkok and they resoldered it for about 2000nt - so i’m hoping there is the equivalent place here somewhere in Taipei?

Quick as turn around as possible, although I can let them have it for a few days if need be.

So anyone know of such a place (or even if the shop doesn’t have the machine - could send it somewhere to be done?)

It’s now become urgent as I need to access some invoices from it - can’t plug the HDD in another machine as it’s encrypted with EFS and I dont have access now to the backup of the key…

Ok to answer my own question just in case it helps someone else :slight_smile:

On the 5th floor of the Guang Hua building at location N59 there is a place called Pu Wang Si Dian Nao Ling Jian (普旺斯電腦零件) who can do it for 3800nt.

In my excitement at finding a place, I forgot to barter - but I suspect you could probably get that down a bit.

They’ve told me it will take max 5 days, but should be done in 3 :slight_smile:
