Don’t worry, they were spraying disinfectant on the road at the entrance to National Taiwan University of Science and Technology today so it’s all good.
My bad. I was the one that suggested maybe a local cade would get people to vaccinate. Paisei.
Thanks for the update and hope it get back to zero soon. Wear your masks there in Taipei.
In a precautionary move, NTUST—which had 65 members of its community (mostly students, some faculty) report visits Taipei’s Mosque during the latest cluster outbreak—has moved to online classes until May 3.

Guy
And I wonder why the USA is giving up its entire stock of AZ vaccine ?
Three confirmed local cases today. Two are part of what is now the China Airlines cluster. One is a switch from imported to local. I’m a little off speed on this as I’ve been in the mountains for three days.
CECC believes the risk of community transmission from these is very low.
I’ve been looking for more info on today’s three new local infections. Info in English seems sketchy; info in Chinese is not well organized.
It should be policy that all airline staff be vaxed, and we would put a two-month moratorium on people coming into Taiwan from the Philippines and Indonesia (where most imports are coming from).
And Taiwan needs to step up its vax program. If there’s vaccine hesitancy here, why are all the paid-vax bookings filled? I am chomping at the bit to get vaxed.
They added 12,000 more spots today.
Sooner are later they’ll get caught with their pants down!
… and India.
You’ve been saying that for 15 months
Luck doesn’t last.
And that!
Play the lotto!
Makes it feel like they’re trying to dump the garbage stock.
I know it’s not garbage but…
You don’t want it so you’re giving it away…
First two of the three are related to the pilots, but the third is a bit more worrisome, can anyone make sense of this:
The third domestic case reported Wednesday was a man in his 70s, who is the brother of a previously reported COVID-19 case.
After the man’s brother tested positive for COVID-19 in early April, he helped deliver food for his sister-in-law, who was confirmed with the disease on Tuesday.
Google translate of the CDC briefing:
The command center stated that Case 1112 is a 70-year-old male who is a non-resident family member of overseas immigration cases (Case 1068, Case 1106). He has no recent history of going abroad and no doubt appears to be symptomatic. He was in the residence during the home quarantine for Case 1068. When he fell, he stayed at the residence of the case for more than half an hour, and assisted with food delivery during the home isolation period in case 1106. The health unit arranged case 1112 for contact inspection on April 26, and the diagnosis was confirmed today (Ct value 26). 190 contacts of the case have been initially grasped, and they are listed in home isolation. In addition, because the case has a history of activities in public places (as attached), remind people who have been active at the time and places listed in the attachment to take independent health management for 14 days. If there are suspected symptoms, please wear a mask as soon as possible and seek medical treatment and actively inform the physician of the activity Contact history.
Kanchiao Linkou has closed due to student infection.
Another elementary school on Taoyuan also closed.
Two things: regarding the students, wait for the official CECC explanation. I see none on their website.
They do have the whereabouts of one of the confirmed cases for your perusal, a 70 year old.
And yesterday they had pilots by the bus load in Taoyuan hospital. They have been getting vaccinated but yes, not fast enough.
