Coronavirus - Taiwan 2021

Seriously, fuck “elderly people” with entitlement issues and one foot still in a rice paddy. That Confucian nonsense that you must respect them merely because they’re old is a pile of dog shit.

Official statement about masks while driving your own car.

Basically if you are alone in your own car, no mask needed. However if you have passengers then you must mask up.

Being observant/mindful and outgoing/aggressive certainly helps. How many people didn’t notice that woman because they were not paying attention to their surroundings, or maybe saw but didn’t register the mask? How many people saw but were not interested in engaging a stranger, or who thought that it would be rude to do so in this case?

That’s reasonable.

People need the government to tell them that? I thought that’s a no-brainer.

Yes. There’s a lot of stupid people out there. In the USA, the CDC had to tell people not to inject actual bleach into their veins thanks to a stupid comment from the former President. So this is small potatoes in comparison.

One of my pet peeves. Old people who disregard the measures put in place to especially help them stay safe. Like traffic lights. Lot of old people seem to think they are there for decorative purposes only, or they are color blind.

There doesn’t seem to be an exception if all passengers are from the same household.

What about if it is just your own family? People are not wearing masks at home around their children.

They do because people driving alone in their car were getting fined. So the government had to clarify their position on the matter.

I think you still must mask up, mainly because police can’t tell and anyone can just make that claim to avoid a fine.

Wish this principle would apply when you’re nowhere near anyone else as well, like biking through a rural road…

Then perhaps a bunch of people can ask for clarification and get the media involved.

If you are alone and don’t roll down the windows.

There were debates about whether people should be fined if they don’t wear masks in their vehicles. It’s good to have clear guidance for the public and the law enforcement officers.

Buy some of go anywhere in Taiwan with mask under your chin, sure fire way of getting around restrictions .

What are you? A gigolo?

Just this morning entering the MRT, this old guy came out, no mask!

Be happy it wasn’t 220.

Taiwan’s attitude:

Let’s mend it, no prevent it.
