It makes sense as if there were any clusters during CNY it would give time to detect them or to further delay school term.

You cut him short. He said, it’s possible to believe both that the government is doing a “bang-up job” and that Taiwan has been lucky. Seems pretty uncontroversial.
I know you consider yourself the contrarian who disagrees with everything that everybody says about covid and the gov’t but when you need to deliberately cut quotes in half to misrepresent what was said, you’re overreaching.
It also lets people who need to be in the schools disinfecting, enacting any new covid protocols, etc, enjoy their full vacation and not return to the building three or four days before kids.
I’m not for closing schools but this appears to be an easy call.

Some universities seem to have made an extension to the holiday, too. Until Feb 22nd. Mine is scheduled to start then, anyway, so no long holiday for moi. It doesn’t bother me, though. Holidays are overrated.
Yeah, same - we were scheduled to start on the 22nd anyway, so I assume no change.
I actually liked the slightly rebalanced holidays last year, with a couple weeks longer in winter and a couple weeks shorter in summer.
