I’m more scared of huge unexpected expenditure because I tested positive. … So I don’t know what will happen if say I was shopping outside and suddenly the area got closed off and everyone there has to be isolated. Do they all have to pay 40,000nt for the hotel? What if they don’t have the money?

That’s what I’m very terrified of.

First, as far as I know, there have been zero reports in Taiwan of shopping areas being closed off, with everyone isolated. I’ve seen news about that in China, but not in Taiwan.

Quarantine in quarantine facilities can take place if an assessment determines that home quarantine conditions are not suitable, which will be paid for by the government. This will follow the principle that any individual in quarantine requires a room and bathroom to themselves.
