Well I hope Taiwan can keep numbers from getting out of hand, seems some places have re started travel testing, hope I do not lose my travel freedom.

Taiwan can’t do anything. COVID’s gonna COVID, same as it has done for the last three (four?) years. Of course the CECC will pretend that they’re doing something in order to justify their ongoing existence, and I suspect that will involve some kind of restrictions on our freedoms again. I really hope this time Taiwanese people figure out that it’s all just an enormous scam and tell them to go fck themselves, but not very hopeful.

Are teachers still required to wear masks while teaching in the class?
I’m 99% sure that “mandate” was explicitly removed when the outdoor mask rules were dropped - it falls under the heading of “talking to people”. However I think schools are still allowed to make up their own rules - or, at least, that’s what the CECC told them several months back, and has not instructed them otherwise.

Who is still reporting their positive results? If official numbers are in the 20k area, then real cases are probably in the hundreds of thousands.
You have to report if you want to get medicine.

Not really. Unless you’re considered at sufficient risk to need Paxlovid, all of the other M&M’s a Taiwanese doctor will prescribe are the same OTC medicines you’d get for a regular cold. Acetaminophen/paracetamol, a decongestant, an antacid or proton pump inhibitor “to protect your stomach from the strong Western medicine”, and so on.
It’s not that uncommon to have at least some of these at home and it’s not difficult to send a family member out to buy some. Not everyone needs medicine either, especially for the vast majority of people who have no or mild symptoms.
You have to report if you want to get medicine.
I’ve had about 30 students call out for COVID this semester and never gotten a ping on my Social Distance app (yes, yes, I’m one of the suckers who hasn’t deleted it yet) meaning not one of them reported their results.
