The Central Epidemic Command Center announced today (12) that there were 663 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Taiwan, including 551 local cases and 112 imported cases (30 cases were positive for flight landing tests); there were no new confirmed case deaths.
The command center said that there were 551 new local cases today, including 291 males and 260 females, aged between 5 and 90 years old, and the onset date was from April 4 to April 12, 2022. Today, 242 of them were asymptomatic infections. The distribution of cases is New Taipei City (162 cases), Taipei City (115 cases), Kaohsiung City (61 cases), Taoyuan City (53 cases), Keelung City (37 cases), Hualien County (31 cases), Taichung City (26 cases) ), Hsinchu County (16 cases), Pingtung County (14 cases), Tainan City (9 cases), Yilan County and Hsinchu City (8 cases each), Chiayi County (4 cases), Miaoli County (3 cases), Yun Lin County (2 cases), Changhua County and Nantou County (1 case each). The related epidemic investigation is ongoing.
The command center explained that today’s new cases of immigration from abroad are 60 males, 50 females, and 2 cases under investigation, aged in their 10s to 60s, from Indonesia (18 cases), Vietnam (16 cases), and the Philippines. (5 cases), Thailand (4 cases), India (2 cases), the United Arab Emirates, Nigeria, Switzerland, Malaysia and Hong Kong (1 case each), and the other 62 cases are under investigation. The entry date is from March 29 to April 11 this year.
The command center pointed out that the cases 27408-27410, which were announced on April 10 this year, were imported cases from abroad, which were changed to local cases after epidemic investigation.
According to the statistics of the command center, up to now, a total of 7,438,164 cases of novel coronavirus pneumonia have been reported in Taiwan (including 7,409,246 excluded), of which 28,666 were confirmed, including 9,077 imported cases, 19,535 local cases, 36 Dunmu Fleet cases, 3 aircraft infections, 1 Unknown cases and 14 cases under investigation; 37 new cases with empty numbers (negative cases after the epidemic adjustment, and the numbers are changed to empty numbers), and a total of 182 cases have been removed as empty numbers. Since 2020, a total of 854 COVID-19 deaths have been reported, of which 840 are local. The counties and cities where the cases reside are: 413 in New Taipei City, 322 in Taipei City, 30 in Keelung City, 28 in Taoyuan City, 15 in Changhua County, and 15 in Hsinchu County. 13 cases, 5 cases in Taichung City, 3 cases in Miaoli County, 2 cases each in Yilan County and Hualien County, and 1 case each in Hsinchu City, Nantou County, Yunlin County, Tainan City, Kaohsiung City, Pingtung County and Taitung County; 14 cases were imported from abroad.
